北海道の革新勢力
まず諸悪の根元は札幌。札幌の人間は東京に憧れている。何もかも東京と一緒になることを望んでいる。だから都知事に革新の美濃部が就任したころから社会党は大人気。
これに乗じたのが日教組をもっと先鋭化したような北教組。特に大学紛争時代にご多分に漏れず北大も自治会による立てこもり事件が起こったものの、日本最強の機動隊に壊滅され、北大から中核も革マルもいなくなったことによって、共産党支持の北教組が勢力を増す。私の小６の担任は、家庭訪問中にウチの母に「ぜひ共産党に入れてくれ」と訴えていた。私立じゃなくて札幌市立だから、どう考えても地方公務員の服務規程違反＆戸別訪問なのだが… まぁなりふり構わずやっていた。
この担任の社会の授業での一コマ。
担任「このように、大日本帝国憲法は憲法改正が比較的簡単で、日本国憲法は比較的難しいわけ。どっちがいい憲法だろうね？ ○○どう思う？」
素直なアフォ児童「大日本帝国憲法は、天皇とか軍隊が簡単に変えることができるから、日本国憲法の方がいいと思います」
担任「なるほどね。○○と同じ意見の人は手を挙げて」
続々と挙手する素直な児童達（笑）
担任「あれ？ ××（私のこと）は違う意見？」
私「う〜ん、日本国憲法の方がいい憲法なら変えにくくした方がいいと思うけど、何十年後もいい憲法のままじゃないかもしれないから、どっちがいいとか比べられないと思う」
このときの担任は鬼畜でも見るような目をしていた。
あとはマスコミね。北海道新聞は毎日よりも発行部数があるのに、書いていることは朝日以上に先鋭化（笑）。東京化したがっていても郷土愛は持っているので、ほとんどの家では北海道新聞をとっているんだよね。道新のサイトでも訪問してください。吐き気すること請け合いだから（笑）。

コメントありがとうございます＞マッタリーさん。ご指摘の通り、田中敏文知事は革新知事ですね。私のリサーチ不足でした。
母は満州からの引き上げだったし何より幼かったので、当時の北海道の政治状況はまったく知りません。ただ父の話を聞くと、ドラマなどで喧伝されているような混乱なんかは札幌近郊にはなかったようなんですよね。もっとも、実家が農家だから食べるものには困っていなかっただろうからこその印象かもしれませんが。
当時の社会党は旧軍人への対処も実に人間的だったし、共産党は投獄されても信念を曲げなかったような一本筋の通った連中ばかりだったので、今の社民や共産よりは、低所得者層を取り込みやすかったのかもしれませんね。
私は北海道は中央依存体質さえ抑えれば、まだまだ伸びる可能性はあると考えています。「屯田兵スピリッツはどこへいったんだ！」と、屯田兵の五代目は思うわけです…
しかし低所得者層の取り込みに共産党と公明党というのは… 金を稼げない人は、神を信じないリアリズムに走るか、とことん宗教にのめり込むかということですか… 首都圏（特に東京）も北海道以上に創価学会が幅をきかせていますが、決して低所得者層をターゲットにしているわけじゃないんですけどねぇ…

北海道での社会党人気が東京の美濃部都政の始まりとリンクしているという表現には違和感があります。なぜなら、戦後、北海道知事が官選から民選になった際、選挙で選ばれたのは田中敏文という革新知事だったからです。
では、どうして革新知事が生まれたのか？この背景には当時の劣悪な労働環境、生活環境があったからで、労働層・低所得者層が社会党、共産党へと流れたのではないでしょうか。
北海道全体では一人あたり総生産はそう低くはありませんが、１４支庁別に試算すると、沖縄県より低い地域があったりします。公には公表されていませんが。
なお、低所得者層の票の取り合いといえば、共産党と公明党とが火花を散らしていますね。
